My grandfather Nick and his father Alex worked for Iron Fireman, a boiler and stoker company in Chicago.
Passion + Knowledge + Experience
100 Years and Counting
For four generations my forefathers have been masters of heat. My great grandfather Alex was a pipefitter and boilermaker. His son, my grandfather Nick, fired the boiler in the first Chicago Marriott hotel. My father Dave designed and built metal-melting foundry systems across the Midwest.
As a homebuilder, contractor and consultant over the last 20 years I expanded my knowledge base to include all the trades and systems in buildings. I wasn't satisfied with the way buildings were being designed and built, because I always saw opportunities to improve the way those buildings performed.
I trained with the Building Performance Institute to gain the skills I needed to quantify poor building performance and make the precise analysis building owners require when deciding which energy saving improvements to implement.
